Vinification

After early morning harvesting of grapes, the whole berries were cold soaked for 24 hours in the cellar. The juice was fermented dry in rotor tanks. The wine matured for 18 months in French oak barrels.

Winemaker’s Comments

This purple-red wine features some delicate hints of vanilla (from the oak) and a rich earthy and leathery nose. The flavours follow through on the palate to a lingering and long finish. The wine has great complexity with a delicate integration of the oak, which gives the wine extra dimension.

What’s in the name?
